Job Details
Capital Markets Business Analyst (BA) acts as a liaison between business users and technology teams to improve processes, analyze financial data, gather requirements for new systems, and ensure regulatory compliance in the capital markets sector. Key duties include documenting business requirements, supporting financial modeling, analyzing trade performance, creating financial reports, managing projects, and collaborating with stakeholders to optimize trading and risk management systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Analysis:Analyzing business needs, documenting functional specifications, and acting as a subject matter expert to bridge the gap between business and technology teams.
- Data Analysis & Reporting:Analyzing financial data to support pricing strategies, mortgage portfolio performance, and interest rate risk management. This includes creating financial reports, charts, and dashboards to communicate findings.
- Project Management:Assisting in the development, configuration, and deployment of technology solutions and managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
- Regulatory Compliance:Supporting regulatory submissions, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and responding to internal and external audit requests.
- Stakeholder Collaboration:Working closely with business owners, finance teams, technology partners, and clients to gather requirements and ensure solutions meet business needs.
- Financial Modeling & Risk Management:Supporting the development and maintenance of financial models, analyzing risk factors, and implementing solutions for risk management, including derivatives and balance sheet optimization.
Required Skills
- Financial Knowledge:A strong understanding of capital markets, financial products (like derivatives and mortgage-backed securities), and risk management.
- Analytical & Technical Skills:Proficiency in data analysis, financial modeling, Excel, and potentially tools like JIRA and Visio for project management and reporting.
- Communication Skills:Excellent written and verbal communication skills for explaining complex financial concepts to both business and technical stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving:The ability to analyze complex problems, define solutions, and implement them effectively.
- Project Management:Experience in project management, change management, and resource management.
