Business/Data Analyst

Overview

The Business/Data Analyst supports strategic initiatives across all departments with expertise in system migration projects, as well as ad-hoc business needs (application, automation, production support, UAT management).

This position entails gathering, analyzing, and writing requirements, data analysis, report creation, creating trade/system flow diagrams, PowerPoints, as well as assisting with project delivery of in-house/vendor application implementation. Projects assigned could be on an enterprise level, Front to Back and may also be required to work with third parties. You will also be expected to work with cross-functional teams to understand the business to apply effective technical solutions for different work streams. It is also important for this individual to understand the business from Front Office to Back Office perspective to draw up trade and system flow diagrams and devise the most sensible solutions.

Responsibilities

Business and data analysis for strategic projects and enhancements across financial products and reporting.

Work closely with business/users, other entities/departments, and vendors to identify, assess, and document requirements.

Gather and analyze business requirements to transform and deliver client business needs into system solutions.

Facilitate daily/weekly Developer scrums, sprint planning sessions, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.

Support agile activities, including user story creation, acceptance criteria definition, product backlog grooming, and identifying key dependencies and risks.

Lead new projects from inception through go live, managing the project lifecycle across authoring Project Initiation Documents/Business Requirements Documents, Status Reports, leading Front to Back UAT across Users/Developers

Coordinate with Department stakeholders to track milestones, deliverables, and dependencies.

Document QA test plans and execute test cases. Liaise with business users to create test plans, manage testing, and track defects, enhancements, and questions.

Assist with production implementation & coordinate user validation across impacted Control Functions

Build internal and external (vendor) relationships and collaborate effectively on cross-functional teams.

Assist in producing documentation for UAT process, training deliverables, and production support.

Produce high quality trade/system workflow diagrams, documents, and ppt presentations.

Qualifications

Excellent attention to detail in project management and business/data analysis.

Strong analytical skills to solve business problems using data.

Excellent communication/writing skill, ability to present complex information and write functional/technical specifications and use cases.

Ability to manage multiple tasks / projects and develop strong client relationships.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Technical understanding of application design and SDLC life cycle.

Strong communication skills and language bridging between development team and business stakeholders.

Good understanding of finance and front/middle/back office operations, and able to adapt quickly to business technology landscape.

Experience presenting technical content to business users and cross-departmental audiences.

Strong skills working with MS Excel, MS Project, MS Word, MS Power Point, MS Visio, MS Teams & SharePoint, Atlassian JIRA & Confluence.
