As a Software-Systems Engineer, you will be using your skills and expertise to research, architect, model, simulate, test, certify and improve cutting edge products and services. You'll be developing complex system architectures within contextual modeling platforms, ushering them from operational concept through preliminary and detailed design, simulation, and test using progressive tools. As a cross-functional engineer, you are in charge of system-level ownership of new products and processes through the product lifecycle. In this roll the candidate will work to develop and mature advanced concepts for both internal and customer funded research and development efforts. You'll provide creative and agile solutions to keep our business competitive and adapting to the business environment. The successful candidate will collaborate other subject matter experts and technologists, business development team, and business analysts. The candidate should be self-motivated and be willing to adapt to changing priorities.

The Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area provides affordable, turn-key command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide. The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains - air, land, sea, space and cyber.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Bachelor's of Science degree in Software/Electrical/Computer Engineering, Physics or related discipline and typically 6 or more years of relevant experience
• Demonstrated knowledge of engineering principles and practices
• Experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
• Experience in developing embedded systems as well as troubleshooting problems in them
• In-depth knowledge of software configuration management tools as well as defect tracking tools
• Proven experience in programming with C++ or C and Python
• Strong communication skills to present to internal and external customers as well as author whitepapers.
• Willingness to work on a small team performing complex engineering design evaluations for a diverse mission.
• Experience developing Concepts of Operations (CONOPS) from broad capability statements for all phases of the mission.
• Experience working on multi-disciplinary design and development teams.
• Ability to obtain a Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance with SCI eligibility required.

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Masters of Science or higher degree in Software/Electrical/Computer Engineering, Physics or related discipline and typically 8 or more years of relevant aerospace experience
• Experience designing software systems based upon industry-specific specifications
• Understanding of and experience with digital signal processing techniques and/or radar concepts
• Practitioner of lean or agile software development principles and practices, understanding and advocating the importance of test automation, continuous delivery, continuous improvement, and value delivery.
• Experience with Xilinx FPGA Firmware Development
• Familiarity with ELINT and/or COMINT RF collection systems
• Understanding of CONOPs, deployment constraints, and use cases of DoD/USAF ISR platforms
• Experience with JICD networks and data formats
• Experience with a Linux OS variants and common security constraints regarding their use in deployable systems
• Familiarity with geolocation techniques and how various types of datasets are used to perform geolocation.
• Experience with design through integration and deployment of ISR systems on airborne platforms
• Prior experience and future interest in direct involvement in integration of complex ISR systems onto a variety of manned/unmanned aircraft
