Senior Android Engineer - Core Payments

What does a successful Senior Android Engineer do?

As a Senior Android Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in building, certifying, and operating complex payment systems that support our extensive fleet of smart payment terminals. These terminals process millions of transactions daily through our cloud infrastructure.

You will be an integral part of a team that releases improvements and features bi-weekly, with occasional hotfixes. You will thrive in a dynamic environment where specifications are constantly evolving.

What you will do:

• Add new payment features to our existing products such as dynamic currency conversion, offline payment support, Android Pay, Apple Pay, and mobile wallets.
• Design and develop Android applications and services that deliver exceptional payment flow experiences for customers.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across a variety of device types.
• Take ownership of specific payment components.
• Collaborate with international certification teams and test organizations and work closely with product management to define and refine specifications.
• Triage and address bugs related to payment applications and infrastructure.
• Provide production support services as part of a regular on-call rotation.

What you will need to have:

• 4+ years of expertise in Android platform, including familiarity with Android ROM.
• 4+ years of experience in Android application development using Kotlin.
• 4+ years of experience in UI development with a focus on performance and screen size adaptation.
• Familiarity with 3rd party libraries for Android.
• Experience with databases and schema design, managing multiple high-priority projects and working within complex, distributed systems along with debugging, problem-solving, and critical reasoning skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other engineering disciplines and/or equivalent military experience.

What would be great to have:

• Experience with server technologies such as REST web services and SOA.
• Experience with RXJava, functional programming, and MVVM/Clean architecture design patterns, React Native and JavaScript.
• Experience with iOS and or other mobile development efforts.
• Test-driven development methodology, including UI Automator/Espresso.
• Embedded system development experience, especially with MCU/ARM Cortex, RTOS, and C language.
• Previous experience in the payments industry or exposure to EMVco, PCI, or PTS standards.

Important information about this role:

• This role is on-site Monday through Friday. Fiserv considers in-person collaboration to be an essential part of this role as in-person office experiences help you with your overall onboarding experience and leads to stronger productivity.
• This is a full-time, direct-hire position, and no contract options for unsolicited agency submissions will be considered.

Salary Range

$108,900.00 - $186,800.00

These pay ranges apply to employees in New Jersey, New York and California. Pay ranges for employees in other states may differ.
