Microservices Platform Engineer Kubernetes | Java | Cloud
Location: San Francisco Bay Area (Onsite) Palo Alto
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Microservices Platform Engineer to join a dynamic development team. You'll work on building and maintaining a home-grown Kubernetes infrastructure and VM-based development platforms to support modern SaaS offerings. This is a hands-on role for a strong developer with deep Kubernetes expertise and a solid Java backend background.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage microservices on a custom-built Kubernetes platform.
- Support and enhance a VM development platform used for internal tools and SaaS services.
- Assist in migrating VM cloud services to AWS EKS.
- Manage and monitor a 3-cluster Kubernetes setup, focusing on stateless job execution.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins to streamline development and deployment.
- Collaborate with platform and development teams to ensure scalability, performance, and reliability.
- Troubleshoot issues across infrastructure, platform, and application layers.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Strong expertise in Kubernetes, including deployments, services, and stateful/stateless job orchestration.
- Proficient in Java and Spring Framework, with experience building scalable microservices.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, especially with Jenkins.
- Familiarity with VMware Cloud (VMC) and cloud migration strategies to EKS.
- Excellent debugging, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Must be available to work onsite in the San Francisco Bay Area.
