Job Description:
- The successful engineer in this role will:
- Understand how commodity servers, operating systems and network s function, perform and scale.
- Possess superb troubleshooting, project management and problem analysis skills.
- Drive technical innovation and efficiency in infrastructure operations via automation.
- Design server monitoring and management solutions using automation and self-repair.
- Create processes that enhance operational workflow and provide positive customer impact.
- Dive deep to resolve problems at their root, looking for failure patterns amenable to long-term solutions via simplification and automation.
- Avoid re-inventing the wheel and prefer appropriately simple, repeatable solutions over more complex and failure-prone ones.
- Recognize and adopt best practices in documentation, testing, security, operational support at scale, and efficient use of resources.

- We re looking to add a handful of high-impact operations engineers to our team. In this role, you will collaborate with internal and external teams to develop, monitor and innovate cost-effective solutions for our sortation and distribution systems.
- Your projects vary across building type and Line of Business, adding a vital contribution to the end-to-end Ops engineering lifecycle.
- You will work with a team of highly skilled and highly engaged engineers in a fast-paced and often ambiguous environment. Our team works on hundreds of projects each year. You will be challenged; you will learn; you will work on high impact, high visibility projects; you will grow.
- This role requires 50% regional travel and availability to work from a corporate office when not traveling.
- Candidates should either live near or be willing to relocate within a reasonable commuting distance of the office.

Key job responsibilities:
- Coordinate efforts to develop optimal solutions and processes for the sortation and transportation network through process design, site layout, and intellectual property considerations.
- Collaboration with internal teams and external vendors to generate high-quality, cost-effective solutions in very short periods of time.
- Simultaneously, we manage multiple projects and tasks while effectively influencing, negotiating, and communicating with internal and external business partners, contractors and vendors.
- Effective communication skills, ability to execute the vision, detailed roadmap, and specific technical solutions.
