Overview:
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join a dynamic and forward-thinking infrastructure team. In this role, you will design, implement, and maintain secure Linux-based environments and containerized platforms to support critical business operations. You'll bring expertise in automation, system hardening, and high-availability infrastructure solutions to drive operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable Linux-based systems in both on-premises and cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Alibaba Cloud).
- Manage containerized workloads using Kubernetes and/or Docker to support distributed applications.
- Implement rigorous security measures and system hardening protocols to safeguard infrastructure and sensitive data.
- Use automation tools such as Terraform and Ansible to streamline infrastructure deployment, configuration, and maintenance.
- Develop and maintain custom scripts in Bash and Python for monitoring, automation, and troubleshooting.
- Monitor system performance, logs, and metrics using modern observability tools, ensuring up time, reliability, and capacity planning.
- Design and maintain enterprise-grade backup and disaster recovery solutions to ensure business continuity.
- Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation to provide timely resolution of critical issues affecting production infrastructure.
- 3+ years of experience deploying and managing containerized applications using Kubernetes and Docker.
- Strong scripting skills with 5+ years of experience using Bash and Python for system automation.
- 2+ years of experience with Terraform and Ansible for infrastructure-as-code and configuration management.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience managing and optimizing enterprise Linux environments (e.g., RHEL, CentOS, Oracle Linux).
- Deep understanding of systems monitoring, log management, and alerting best practices.
- Demonstrated experience in infrastructure hardening and implementing cybersecurity best practices.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
