RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in New York, NY that is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Cloud Engineer to support and ensure the reliability, scalability, and resilience of mission-critical systems.
Responsibilities:
* Senior Cloud Engineer will design, deploy, and manage Azure cloud infrastructure using Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
* Develop, maintain, and version Terraform modules and templates for reusable, consistent deployments
* Implement and manage Azure services such as Virtual Machines, Virtual Networks, Storage Accounts, App Services, AKS, and Azure SQL
* Collaborate with DevOps, Security, and Application teams to ensure robust CI/CD pipelines and secure configurations
* Automate provisioning, configuration, and scaling of cloud infrastructure
* Monitor system performance, optimize costs, and ensure high availability and disaster recovery readiness
* As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you will enforce cloud governance, security best practices, and compliance standards (e.g., Azure Policy, RBAC, managed identities)
* Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and provide operational support for cloud environments
* Document infrastructure architecture, standards, and automation processes
* Manage Kubernetes deployments, Databricks environments, and other critical platforms
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, reliable, and cost-effective platform and cloud solutions
* Ensuring all systems comply with security patching and vulnerability management tools
* In collaboration with architects, provide support for FinOps practices to monitor, optimize, and control cloud costs
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
* 3-5+ years of hands-on experience managing infrastructure in Microsoft Azure
* 2-3+ years of experience with Terraform (HCL), including module creation, state management, and CI/CD integration
* Experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar CI/CD tools
* Strong understanding of Azure networking, security, and identity management
* Familiarity with containerization (Docker, AKS/Kubernetes) and monitoring tools (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics)
* Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python
* Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
