Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States

Duration: Long Term

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Business Project Manager to join our client's team in the Healthcare and Insurance domain. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing business-focused projects, particularly within payer, provider, or health insurance environments. This is a purely business-side PM role (non-technical), responsible for leading complex initiatives, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring timely delivery of business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage end-to-end business projects across healthcare and insurance functions (e.g., claims processing, member services, policy administration, compliance, etc.)
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, including product owners, operations teams, compliance, and subject matter experts, to define project scope and objectives.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and status reports using project management tools (e.g., MS Project, JIRA, Smartsheet).
  • Drive risk management, change control, and issue resolution processes.
  • Facilitate regular stakeholder meetings and executive status updates.
  • Ensure that project outcomes meet business goals and align with strategic priorities.
  • Manage dependencies, resources, and budgets effectively across the project lifecycle.
  • Act as a liaison between business units and technical teams, ensuring clear communication and expectations.
  • Prepare documentation such as business cases, BRDs, and post-implementation reviews as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience as a Project Manager, with a strong focus on business projects (not IT/technical PM).
  • Proven experience within the Healthcare and Insurance domain is mandatory.
  • Deep understanding of healthcare payer operations, regulatory compliance (e.g., HIPAA, CMS), and/or insurance workflows.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including executive-level reporting.
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid approaches.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; able to navigate complexity and drive clarity.
  • PMP, PMI-ACP, or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or related field (Master's degree a plus).

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working in large enterprise or matrixed environments.
  • Familiarity with tools like MS Office, SharePoint, JIRA, Confluence, and Visio.
  • Knowledge of change management and process improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean).
