We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mainframe Developer and Production Support Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, enhancing, debugging, maintaining, and testing software applications that support critical business functions. You will work across diverse development platforms, technologies, and tools to deliver robust and scalable solutions. This position requires a strong technical background, the ability to work independently, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and implement complex software applications, often leveraging new technologies.
Provide technical direction and system architecture for individual initiatives.
Collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure the successful delivery of software solutions.
Serve as a proficient technical resource, leading projects and directing team activities related to special initiatives or operations.
Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal system performance.
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in IT software development and the SDLC lifecycle.
Database experience with Mainframe, DB2, Oracle or similar platforms.
Bachelor s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Preferred Skills:
Strong understanding of software development and support processes.
Ability to quickly acquire business domain knowledge and serve as a subject matter expert for multiple applications.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Self-starter with the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.

Programming Languages:
Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, VSAM and Assembler programming.
Experience with REXX scripting for automation and utilities.
Mainframe Tools and Utilities:
Strong knowledge of IBM z/OS operating system.
Proficiency in using tools such as TSO/ISPF, SDSF, ISPW and File-AID
Experience with debugging tools like IBM Debug Tool, Expediter or similar.
Database Management:
Hands-on experience with DB2 and IMS DB/DC.
Proficient in writing and optimizing SQL queries for mainframe databases.
Familiarity with database utilities such as SPUFI, QMF and BMC utilities.
Batch and Online Processing:
Expertise in designing and maintaining CICS online applications.
Strong understanding of batch processing and scheduling tools like CA-7, Control-M or ZEKE
Integration and Middleware:
Experience with MQ Series for message-based communication.
Familiarity with SOAP and RESTful web services integration on mainframe systems.
Version Control and Change Management:
Proficiency in version control tools like Endevor, Changeman or ISPW
Experience with change management processes and tools.
Performance Tuning and Optimization:
Strong skills in analyzing and optimizing mainframe application performance.
Experience with tools like RMF, OMEGAMON or Strobe for performance monitoring.
Testing and Quality Assurance:
Experience with unit testing, integration testing, and regression testing for mainframe applications.
Familiarity with automated testing tools for mainframe environments.
Soft Skills:
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Excellent communication skills to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Agile or DevOps practices in a mainframe environment.
Knowledge of modern mainframe technologies like z/OS Connect or API enablement.
Professional certifications such as IBM Certified Application Developer or DB2 Database Administrator are a plus.
Risk and Governance experience is a plus
