Responsibilities
Cybersecurity Compliance & Controls:
- Apply and maintain cybersecurity controls in accordance with DoD 8500 series, RMF/NIST guidance, AR 25-2, PAM 25-2-2, and Army Best Business Practices.
- Ensure all personnel, systems, and applications comply with federal and Army information security laws, policies, and standards.
Vulnerability Assessment & Remediation:
- Conduct regular network and system vulnerability scans, analyze security posture, and track IAVA/IAVM compliance.
- Implement safeguards and coordinate remediation with system administrators and cybersecurity staff.
Incident Response & Threat Management:
- Detect, investigate, and document malware, suspicious activities, and security incidents. Support CSIR, Army CERT, and OTC CERT in responding to incidents, and ensure timely notifications to appropriate personnel.
System Protection & Availability:
- Maintain the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of servers, desktops, and network devices. Manage security programs, group policies, and tools including HBSS, SMS, WSUS, anti-virus, and DoD Vulnerability Management System.
Policy Implementation & Monitoring:
- Develop, implement, and monitor IT security policies and procedures.
- Enforce configuration standards, advise on configuration management, and ensure systems meet RMF and accreditation requirements.
Continuity & Disaster Recovery:
- Support disaster recovery and continuity of operations planning.
- Develop, maintain, and test continuity and disaster recovery plans to ensure reliable system operations.
Coordination, Reporting and Training:
- Collaborate with government representatives, contractors, and internal teams to maintain system compliance.
- Report security findings, recommend corrective actions, and promote sound cybersecurity practices.
- Educate users on IT security responsibilities, provide awareness training, and ensure adherence to cybersecurity policies and best practices.
Perform other duties as required, which may include:
- Accomplishing assigned tasks in closely related fields.
- Responding to changes in work schedules and/or locations.
- Supporting other sections on the ITSS contract.
- Participating in formal, on-the-job, and cross-training.
Qualifications
- Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility.
- Active DoD 8570 baseline certifications meeting IAT Level II or IAM Level I requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in a directly related field with 0+ years of experience, or 2+ years of experience with no degree (or any degree in a non-directly related technical field).
- Experience must be in information security, network/system administration, IT auditing, IT compliance, enterprise risk management, and cybersecurity assessments.
- Experience with incident response, computer emergency response, security monitoring, and implementing/updating cybersecurity policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of DoD regulatory compliance and information security frameworks, including NIST SP 800-37, NIST SP 800-53, and DoD RMF.
- Knowledge of Windows Server 2019, Windows 11, and network device configuration, including routers, firewalls, access control lists, VPNs, SIPRNET, and LANs.
- Experience in patch management, IAVM, risk assessment, and vulnerability assessment using Tenable ACAS or similar tools.
