Role: Construction Specialist (Telecom)
Rate: $35/hour W2 + Federal Milage rate for travel
Location: Berlin, CT OR Carmel, NY
Travel: Across multiple sites around Berlin, CT and Carmel, NY area (40% field work)
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Construction Project Specialist to oversee and manage multiple construction projects for Comcast across 5–6 towns in Connecticut and the Carmel, NY area. This role is primarily office-based (approx. 60%) with regular field visits (40%) and occasional travel across the territory. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of fiber optics and coax infrastructure and be comfortable coordinating with municipalities, contractors, and internal business partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Coordination:
- Manage 20–70 active construction projects of varying sizes and scopes, including new residential/commercial builds and maintenance work.
- Serve as the primary day-to-day contractor interface and liaison with Comcast’s Regional Network Technicians.
- Ensure timely and accurate updates to JT or Polaris entries (job documentation/maps) and verify path quality.
- Construction Oversight:
- Coordinate and supervise overhead/underground construction activities including placing hard-line connectivity, framing and stranding poles, transferring facilities, and joint trench operations.
- Ensure new or upgraded power supplies are operational prior to cut dates.
- Maintain high standards of quality for NGAN (Next Generation Access Network) products from build to operations handoff.
- Qualifications:
- Must be based in Connecticut or Carmel, NY area; no fixed office location.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- General knowledge of fiber optics and coaxial cable infrastructure.
- Familiarity with SphereP2 and Salesforce is a plus, but not mandatory.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is required.
