Senior Application Cloud Engineer – AppMod

Location: 100 % Remote (Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.)
Schedule: 40 hours/week
Duration: 12+ Months

About the Role
As a Senior Application Cloud Engineer, you will support and deliver cloud infrastructure aligned with a multi-tenant cloud computing strategy. You will manage AWS cloud infrastructure for major city services—including identity management, web services, and more—while leading projects, contributing to technical design, and implementing cloud platforms. This is an opportunity to work across teams and drive the advancement of cloud services at scale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build automation scripts for AWS IaaS, PaaS, AKS, serverless, databases, secrets, and storage services

  • Implement and support highly scalable, flexible, and resilient cloud architectures

  • Drive requirements for integrating cloud capabilities and cost-efficient solution architecture

  • Deploy, configure, and support IaaS/PaaS components in AWS environments

  • Configure and support cloud security and policy components

  • Develop cloud consumption targets for multi-tenant/hybrid cloud deployments

  • Design, plan, and implement business continuity and disaster recovery for cloud environments

  • Enable and support monitoring and insight tools

Mandatory Qualifications

  • At least 12 years of technology development and administration experience, with at least 6 years of hands-on AWS implementation

  • Minimum 5 years supporting and maintaining enterprise hybrid cloud environments

  • Expert troubleshooting skills

  • Proven team player and self-motivated

  • Extensive knowledge of cloud methodologies (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS), automation, orchestration, cost frameworks, and industry-leading cloud vendor offerings

  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Ansible

  • Experience in business continuity and disaster recovery design, planning, and implementation

  • Experience with Azure DevOps Pipelines

  • Ability to design, plan, and execute workflow automation

  • Familiarity with the AWS Well-Architected Framework

  • Linux server administration experience

  • Cloud-based storage system administration

  • Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python, PowerShell)

  • Experience with storage migrations in large, complex enterprise environments
