Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated System Engineer to join a dynamic team supporting a mission-critical government program. This role requires a seasoned systems engineer with a strong background in both system administration and software development environments. Key Responsibilities:
-
Collaborate with the Lead Developer, Government leadership, and cross-functional development teams to define priorities and drive Agile processes
-
Facilitate communication between technical teams, government stakeholders, and end users to ensure alignment on goals and deliverables
-
Support the development and maintenance of systems using technologies such as AWS, .NET, C#, Java, PHP, Linux, Windows, Microsoft SQL Server, and Oracle

Assist in the preparation of project schedules; identify and communicate dependencies, risks, and impediments
-
Contribute to requirements management, ensuring clear definitions of "done" in collaboration with customers

Maintain and update technical documentation and support project planning activities
Education & Experience Requirements:
System Engineer Level 2
-
Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline and fourteen (14) years of experience as a Systems Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity
OR
-
Nineteen (19) years of Systems Engineering experience in lieu of a degree
Additional Skills & Abilities:
-
Demonstrated experience working on software development teams with diverse technical skillsets

Proven ability to operate independently and collaboratively in high-visibility, mission-driven environments

Experience with Agile development methodologies

Strong communication skills and ability to interface with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Experience administering systems in Windows and Linux environments is preferred

Familiarity with managing systems in virtualized/cloud environments, particularly AWS, is preferred
-
Proficiency with Atlassian Suite tools, including Confluence and Jira, is preferred
-
Experience developing and maintaining technical documentation and project schedules is preferred
