Principal Java / Kafka Developer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Principal Java/Kafka Developer in Westlake, TX.

Responsibilities:
* Principal Java/Kafka Developer will develop full-stack applications using Java, Spring, and Spring Boot
* Build responsive Angular UI applications with NgRx and TypeScript
* Design and implement REST APIs for financial services platforms
* Develop and support data ingestion services using MQ/Kafka technologies
* Work with relational and non-relational databases (Oracle, Redis, Aerospike, DynamoDB)
* Integrate financial messaging protocols like FIX
* Utilize AWS cloud technologies for scalable deployments
* Apply DevOps practices using Jenkins, Concourse, Docker, and Git workflows
* As a Principal Java/Kafka Developer, you will ensure modular, scalable platform design aligned with Agile methodologies
* Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders
* Continuously improve code quality and engineering practices in fast-paced environments

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
* 10+ years of experience in distributed application development
* Experience with Kafka/MQ for data ingestion and FIX protocol
* Familiar with AWS, Git workflows, Jenkins, Docker, and Concourse
* Strong skills in Angular, NgRx, TypeScript, Java, Spring Boot, and REST APIs
* Skilled in relational and NoSQL databases (Oracle, Redis, Aerospike, DynamoDB)
* Comfortable in Agile environments with CI/CD exposure
* Strong communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills
* Passion for clean code and continuous learning

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
