The Protected Communication Systems (PCS) team is hiring Principal Systems Engineers to support programs for our US military and various international customers, keeping the world safe from foreign threats. PCS supports multiple Collins contracts and is seeking to fill roles across several open contracts - our goal is to align each new hire with a position that best suits their skills and allows for career growth. As a Principal Systems Engineer, you will be a member of an Integrated Program Team (IPT) developing architecture, refining requirements, guiding system development and integration, supporting test development, and working closely with our customers and suppliers to ensure we deliver world class solutions.

What You Will Do
Manage moderately sized projects or processes
Manage the entrance and exit criteria of Design Reviews, Integration, Dry Run, and Formal Qualification Testing
Manage numerous and undefined problems and issues requiring detailed information gathering, analysis, and investigation to understand the problem
Oversee the development of full lifecycle solutions from CONOPS to Validation while leading customer discussions and reporting to project leadership
Oversee and supporting the Integration of Solutions within their target environment
Oversee lab activities including definition, setup, configuration management, and testing
Act as a Subject Matter Expert within discipline and a mentor to junior engineers

Qualifications You Must Have
Knowledge of the full Systems Engineering V - from CONOPS development to Sustainment
Ability to interact with and lead multidisciplinary teams of design professionals including electrical, mechanical, software, test, logistics and other system engineers
Strong integration and test knowledge including digital twins, test procedures, test automation, test execution, and/or test reporting
Knowledge of or application of Earned Value Management System
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
The ability to obtain Top Secret Clearance within 1 year of start date

Qualifications We Prefer
Specific Experience with Nuclear Command & Control (NC3) programs for STRATCOM, E-4B, E-6B, and/or other Strategic initiatives
Experience with audio and video (hardware or software) product design and development, including how it's done in a product, protocols, chipsets, configuration
Experience with integrating communication Radio and Systems: SATCOM, LOS/BLOS, AEHF, or V/UHF
Experience with computer networking including API development and systems security
Proficiency in tooling to include CAMEO, Rhapsody, Microsoft products, or tasking boards (Jira, IBM EWM, etc.)
Experience with and knowledge of scripting for analysis or build and test automation
A current active Secret (or higher) Clearance

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
