Job Title: Backend Engineer
Location: Doraville, GA (Remote)
Contract Duration: 12+ Months
Work Authorization: W2 Only (No Sub-Vendors)
Submission Requirement: Candidates must have hands-on Optimizely platform experience

Job Description:
We are seeking a Backend Engineer to join a long-term, fully remote project. The ideal candidate will bring strong backend development expertise, particularly in Java and Node.js, and must have proven experience with the Optimizely platform. This engineer will be responsible for owning backend architecture, ensuring scalability and performance, and collaborating closely with frontend and architecture teams.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop backend services using Java (Spring Boot) and Node.js
  • Architect and maintain scalable and efficient RESTful and GraphQL APIs
  • Integrate with both legacy systems and third-party services
  • Contribute to a service-oriented architecture in a high-performance environment
  • Implement and extend digital experience functionality using Optimizely
  • Apply strong testing practices including unit, integration, and automated testing
  • Participate in peer code reviews and continuous improvement efforts

Technical Requirements:
Must-Have Skills:
  • Java (Spring Boot)
  • Node.js
  • RESTful API development
  • Optimizely platform experience (Required)
  • API design (REST & GraphQL)
  • Integration with SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., MySQL, Oracle, MongoDB, Couchbase)
  • Familiarity with functional programming in Scala (preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of TDD and automation tools

Nice-to-Have Skills:
  • Frontend framework integration (React, AngularJS, Next.js)
  • Deep understanding of OOP and SOLID principles
  • Experience with e-commerce systems and digital personalization tools
  • Performance tuning for large-scale applications
