Senior Structural Engineer

Job Summary of Roles and Responsibilities

POWER Engineers, Member of WSP is seeking a highly-capable, experienced structural engineer with significant experience in the power industry to assist our Civil-Structural-Architectural team. This position will be a part-time position only. The qualified candidate will have experience with design, procurement, and construction procedures from planning through execution as well as familiarity with common electric distribution projects. The position will require the individual to evaluate potential sites, provide feasibility studies, and economic analysis of energy projects. The candidate will be expected to communicate directly with the client and therefore they must have a strong command of the English language and possess good written and oral communications skills. Minimal travel should be expected.

Required Education/Experience
  • Fifteen (15) years of experience in the power industry
  • Familiarity with basic project management skills to include: scheduling, sequencing, budgeting and coordinating multiple stakeholders
  • Strong command of the English language and possess good written and oral communications skills
  • Ability to develop strong client relationship, write proposals and manage projects from a technical and administrative perspective
  • Ability to coordinate technical issues with internal and external engineers, designers, drafters, and customer representatives
  • Must be able to successfully pass client's background screening process
  • Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record

Desired Education/Experience
  • Masters of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering or similar degree from an ABET-accredited university
  • Twenty (20) years of experience in power industry
  • Prior design experience with static and dynamic analysis of large scale machine foundations
  • Prior project management experience with energy industry projects
  • Registered Professional Engineer
