Job Title: AXP/AEP Data Engineer
Location: 100% Remote
Duration: 12+ Months Contracts
Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled Data Engineer with hands-on experience in Adobe Experience Platform (AEP) and its core solutions Real-Time Customer Data Platform (RT-CDP), Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO), and Customer Journey Analytics (CJA). The ideal candidate will design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines that power personalized customer experiences, real-time activation, and journey analytics.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data architects, marketers, and analysts, to ensure high-quality, compliant, and unified customer data flows across digital channels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Pipeline Development:
- Design, develop, and maintain robust data ingestion pipelines into Adobe Experience Platform using batch and streaming data sources.
- Adobe RT-CDP Data Engineering:
- Implement RT-CDP data schemas, source connectors, identity resolution rules, and audience activation workflows.
- Integration & Transformation:
- Work with internal and external APIs, ETL/ELT tools, and data orchestration frameworks to enable data movement between AEP and other enterprise systems (CRM, DWH, web analytics, etc.).
- Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO):
- Support the configuration of event datasets, triggers, and journey data pipelines for real-time activation and personalization.
- Customer Journey Analytics (CJA):
- Prepare and integrate datasets to ensure unified data models for cross-channel analytics and reporting within CJA.
- Data Quality & Governance:
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, etc.) through monitoring and validation frameworks.
- Collaboration:
- Partner with Adobe architects, marketing operations, and analytics teams to translate business requirements into scalable data solutions.
- Performance Optimization:
- Optimize ingestion, storage, and query performance within AEP datasets and related cloud environments.
- Documentation & Automation:
- Maintain technical documentation and automate repetitive workflows using scripts and cloud-native tools.
Required Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field.
- Overall Data Engineering Experience:
- 8+ years of professional experience in data engineering, ETL development, or data integration in large-scale environments.
- Adobe Experience Platform (AEP) Ecosystem:
- 3 5 years of experience designing and implementing solutions within AEP or similar CDP/MarTech ecosystems.
- Adobe Real-Time Customer Data Platform (RT-CDP):
- 3 4 years of hands-on experience in:
- Data ingestion (batch and streaming)
- XDM schema and dataset design
- Identity resolution configuration
- Segment creation and audience activation workflows
- Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO):
- 2 3 years of experience integrating data pipelines to support real-time triggers, event datasets, and journey orchestration.
- Customer Journey Analytics (CJA):
- 1 3 years of experience preparing and linking datasets for use in CJA, including familiarity with data views, dimensions, and calculated metrics.
- Programming & Scripting:
- 3 5 years of experience in Python, SQL, or Scala for data transformation and automation.
- ETL / Data Pipeline Tools:
- 3 5 years of experience with ETL tools such as Informatica, Talend, Apache Airflow, or Azure Data Factory.
- Cloud & Big Data Technologies:
- 3 5 years of experience in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform with data storage and processing services (S3, Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, etc.).
- APIs & Streaming Data:
- 2 4 years of experience integrating data using REST APIs, Kafka, or Adobe I/O Runtime for real-time processing.
- Data Modelling & Governance:
- 3 5 years of experience in data modelling, metadata management, and ensuring compliance with privacy frameworks.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Adobe Certified Professional or Expert in RT-CDP, AJO, or CJA.
- Experience integrating Adobe Experience Cloud with CRM, CMS, and DMP platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Adobe Campaign, ServiceNow).
- Knowledge of JSON, Parquet, and Avro data formats.
- Familiarity with CI/CD practices and Git-based version control.
- Experience in real-time event streaming and data orchestration frameworks.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Comfortable working in cross-functional and Agile teams.
- Detail-oriented with a passion for data accuracy and quality.
