Job Description:

  • Role Summary: The Observability Engineer will lead the design and implementation of a full-stack business observability solution using New Relic. This includes strategy, architecture design, governance, and aligning observability capabilities with business and technology goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design end-to-end observability architecture using New Relic (APM, Infra, Logs, Browser, Synthetics, Mobile, and New Relic One Dashboards).
  • Align observability solutions with business KPIs and SLAs.
  • Define instrumentation strategy across services, applications, APIs, containers, and cloud/on-prem infrastructure.
  • Architect integration with ITSM, CI/CD, and collaboration tools.
  • Define golden signals, SLIs/SLOs, and dashboards for business and technical visibility.
  • Provide governance and best practices for tagging, alerting, and entity mapping.

Required Skills:

  • 10+ years of experience in IT Operations/Architecture with 3+ years in Observability.
  • Deep hands-on knowledge of New Relic platform components.
  • Experience integrating New Relic with cloud (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform), Kubernetes, and microservices.
  • Proficient in OpenTelemetry and telemetry data pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of DevOps, SRE principles, and business observability.

  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to keep abreast of industry developments and new technologies.
