Join the State of Wisconsin DCF Tech Team - .NET Developers & Architects Wanted!
Agency: Wisconsin Department of Children and Families (DCF)
Location: Remote (Wisconsin-based candidates only)
Start Date: Early October
Duration: Through 6/30/2026, with potential extensions that could last years!
Positions Available:
- 3 Senior .NET Web Developers
- 1 Senior Application Architect
About the Roles
DCF is seeking experienced full-stack .NET professionals to support high-impact web application projects within the Child Care and Child Welfare (CCCW) division. These roles are part of a modernization initiative, including a migration to Okta-based authentication and development of secure, scalable web applications using .NET MVC, C#, JavaScript, SQL Server, and more.
You'll be joining a collaborative team focused on building robust, secure, and user-friendly applications that support critical services for Wisconsin families.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain full-stack .NET web applications
- Implement secure authentication flows using OIDC and Okta
- Write and optimize custom SQL queries
- Participate in code reviews, testing (TDD), and production support
- Collaborate on architecture decisions and mentor junior developers (Architect role)
- Document technical requirements and contribute to project planning
Required Skills & Experience
- .NET MVC with C# (6+ years for Developers, 9+ years for Architect)
- Full-stack development (8-9+ years)
- Custom SQL writing (8-9+ years)
- JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, Bootstrap
- Production support & troubleshooting
- Clear written and verbal communication
- Experience with SDLC, TDD, CI/CD tools (GitLab, Jenkins, Azure DevOps)
Preferred Skills
- Okta, Oracle, DB2, VB.NET, Web Forms
- Mobile development (iOS, Swift, Objective-C)
- Front-end frameworks (Blazor, Angular, React, Vue.js)
- Reporting tools (Crystal Reports, Telerik)
- PowerShell scripting, IIS configuration
- Familiarity with Wisconsin CARES or YoungStar systems

- Wisconsin-based candidates only
- Remote work with potential for minimal onsite presence (90-100% remote)
- Candidate must provide their own equipment
- On-call and occasional weekend work required
- Three business references required (one supervisory)
