About This Role
- Support hands on and engineering product and process development of a wide variety of composite materials and processes
- Identify limitations of current state of the art and offer development activities leveraging Textron capabilities.
- Work as part of a multi discipline project team consisting of materials scientists, thermal mechanical modeling, modeling and simulation.
- Contribute as a technical partner to build state of the art manufacturing and test facilities for prototype through production.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in materials engineering or materials science. Also of interest is mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, plastics engineering
- General materials engineering knowledge including chemistry and polymers, ceramics, and fiber reinforcement offerings with emphasis on composite materials
- Understanding of mechanical and thermal properties testing of materials and composites
- Ability to model properties and processes is a plus
- Basic understanding of additive manufacturing and / or automation is a plus
- Ability to obtain and maintain a US Secret Clearance
