Job Title: 7129 - Data Management Technician (Must reside in Sacramento area to be considered)
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Management Technician to support engineering and data management functions. This role involves applying engineering and drafting principles, maintaining and verifying data accuracy, and assisting with mapping, document management, and reporting. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with specialized applications such as AutoCAD and ArcGIS, while supporting cross-functional teams in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply principles of engineering, drafting, design, and mathematics techniques.
- Enter, transfer, extract, and analyze data to verify accuracy.
- Retrieve information from multiple databases to identify and correct inconsistencies or generate reports.
- Review and analyze survey information on facilities and infrastructure.
- Create and update assets using AutoCAD 2D Mapping Enterprise (AME).
- Prepare reports and documentation using Microsoft Office tools.
- Research and compile information for data entry and project support.
- Maintain document management standards, custom attributes, and document classes.
- Assist internal and external users with data access, formats, and related processes.
- Capture, maintain, and update technical data sets.
- Operate and troubleshoot specialized data management applications.
- Read, interpret, and utilize engineering plans, schematics, GIS documents, and related technical drawings.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and reestablish priorities as needed.
- Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in operating a computer and business software applications (Word, Excel, databases).
- Ability to work independently and in team settings.
Desired Knowledge & Experience
- Experience using ArcGIS to view or edit spatial data.
- Experience drafting in current versions of AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of attributes and functionality of tracking/reporting database applications, computerized control systems, CAD applications, and/or system modeling software.
- Familiarity with procedures, methods, and equipment used in engineering data management.
- Experience working in a team-oriented environment.
