Job Details
AWS has established a specialized group of service teams responsible for the work we are doing with the U.S. Intelligence Community. We are building some of the largest and most complex distributed systems in the world, and we need world class people to help us implement and operate them.
The AWS Intelligence Initiative Team is hiring cleared engineers for a unique opportunity to work with some of the best and brightest engineers and technical leaders. Engineers undergo an intensive 3-6month development program to learn about operational culture, enhance their technical skills through a hands-on job path curriculum, to obtain a holistic view of our technology, dedicated mentorship, and support from our program?s alumni all while obtaining a U.S. Government security clearance.
Upon graduation from our program, engineers will have the foundational skills and knowledge needed to excel at AWS to help U.S. Government agencies implement innovative cloud computing solutions, solve technical problems and join a specialized engineering team. If you are passionate about the potential of cloud computing and about building simple and elegant software solutions, apply for a role today and come learn about our commitment to developing engineers skillsets to operate in dedicated AWS regions.
This position requires that the candidate selected must currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph. The position further requires the candidate to opt into a commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work.

Key job responsibilities
The AWS Intelligence team is seeking highly motivated engineers who are focused on operational excellence and troubleshooting complex system operations, have a good understanding of Linux, networking and general knowledge of cloud services. We need engineers who understand how to think big, and simplify solutions to complex problems; all the while ensuring that our customers continue to have the best experience possible.
In this role, you are able to take a defined set of tasks and execute it on schedule. You identify ineffective processes. You may identify when technical implementations have defects or are not highly available, performant, or maintainable. You understand operational risks and avoid taking unnecessary risks. You identify operational concerns and resolve, mitigate, or escalate concerns in a timely manner.
