Job Details
Title: AI/ML Specialist for Healthcare Solutions
Location: Hybrid (Rancho Cucamonga, CA)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with data scientists and other IT/Business units to augment digital transformation efforts by identifying and piloting use cases. Discuss the feasibility of use cases along with architectural design with business teams and translate the vision of business leaders into realistic technical implementation. At the same time, bring attention to misaligned initiatives and impractical use cases.
- Align technical implementation with existing and future requirements by gathering inputs from multiple stakeholders business users, data scientists, security professionals, data engineers and analysts, and those in IT operations and developing processes and products based on the inputs.
- Play a key role in defining the AI architecture and selecting appropriate technologies from a pool of open-source and commercial offerings. Select cloud, on-premises or hybrid deployment models, and ensure new tools are well-integrated with existing data management and analytics tools.
- Audit AI tools and practices across data, models and software engineering with a focus on continuous improvement. Ensure a feedback mechanism to assess AI services, support model recalibration and retrain models.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field; Master's preferred.
- Progressive experience in technology, data science, ML engineering, or AI-focused roles.
- Proven track record of both managing technical teams and driving strategic initiatives with business stakeholders.
- Expertise in designing and building scalable AI/ML solutions in a Microsoft and Hadoop environments
- Deep, hands-on knowledge of MLOps principles and tools (e.g., MLflow, Kubeflow, Sagemaker) and large-scale data processing technologies (e.g., Spark).
- Demonstrated ability to create strategic roadmaps and communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical executive audiences.
- Deep understanding of health plan operations, including claims, utilization management, member engagement, risk adjustment, and quality reporting.
- Hands-on familiarity with AI/ML tools and platforms (Python, R, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Azure ML, etc.).
- Strong understanding of data governance, interoperability (HL7, FHIR), and HIPAA compliance.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence executive leadership

- Knowledge of healthcare analytics and electronic health records (EHR).
- Familiarity with HL7, FHIR, ICD codes, and other healthcare-specific data formats
- Familiarity with natural language processing (NLP) for analyzing clinical notes.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) for deploying AI/ML solutions.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
