Data Engineer/ Ab Initio Developer

Location: DMV (District of Columbia, Maryland & Virginia)

The Lead Data Engineer/ Ab Initio Developer will manage and scale cloud or on-premise infrastructure to support big data and data platforms. The role focuses on ensuring reliability, automation, and performance, and involves leading the development of solutions that help the company gain valuable, data-driven insights.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • 8+ years of experience leading data engineering teams.
    • Proven track record of building scalable and high-performance ETL/ELT solutions.
    • Experience in developing and maintaining ETL/ELT scripts.
    • Hands-on experience in application development, data modeling, and relational databases.

Note: If no bachelor's degree, 4 additional years of relevant experience is required.

Preferred Skills:

  • ETL Development: Expert in designing and developing ETL processes using Ab Initio.
  • Hadoop Experience: Worked on at least one data integration project, preferably using Cloudera Hadoop.
  • Cloud & Database: Knowledge of AWS and exposure to MongoDB is a plus.
  • Programming: Proficient in SQL, NoSQL, or Python.
  • Database Design: Strong understanding of database design and implementation.
  • Data Formats: Expertise in handling different data exchange formats.
  • Data Movement: Deep knowledge of data movement concepts.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong technical, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Communication: Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Leadership: Able to lead and direct technical teams effectively.
