Job Details
The Access Control Systems Administrator is responsible for managing, configuring, and maintaining the organizations physical security access control platform, with a primary focus on Genetec Synergis Access Control. This role ensures secure, reliable, and efficient operation of access control systems across enterprise facilities, while supporting compliance, incident response, and integration with other security technologies.
Key Responsibilities
Administer and configure Genetec Access Control (Synergis), including user credentials, access rights, schedules, and system policies.
Perform remote setup, troubleshooting, and issue resolution for access control devices, controllers, and software.
Monitor system performance, logs, and alerts to proactively identify and resolve potential issues.
Collaborate with IT, security, and facilities teams to ensure seamless integration with video surveillance, intrusion detection, and other security systems.
Maintain system documentation, configuration records, and compliance reports.
Support incident response by investigating access-related events and providing audit trails.
Implement updates, patches, and upgrades to ensure system reliability and cybersecurity resilience.
Train and support end-users and stakeholders on access control policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Proven experience administering Genetec Synergis Access Control or similar enterprise access control platforms.
Strong knowledge of physical security systems, including card readers, controllers, and electronic locks.
Familiarity with IT networking concepts (TCP/IP, SNMP, VLANs) and system integration.
Experience with security compliance frameworks and audit requirements.
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and remotely.
Strong communication and documentation abilities.
Preferred Skills
Experience integrating Genetec with video surveillance (Security Center) or third-party systems.
Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices for physical security platforms.
Certifications in Genetec or related access control/security systems.
