Job Details

Must be accredited by an agency recognized by the USDE or CHEA
The Accounting Clerk performs routine accounting activities and reconciliations of various accounts. This includes general ledger and subledger account reconciliations, statement preparation, and journal entry creation. The Accounting Clerk assists with moderately complex calculations and analysis. This position provides internal customer service regarding credit card account refunds, chargebacks, and other accounting matters; assists in resolving credit card payment issues and other items affecting the client cash reconciliation.
Prepares and reconciles assigned subledger accounts to the County s general ledger on a monthly basis and identifies any reconciling items and the proper steps needed to adjust these items.
Prepares journal entries for ledger maintenance and accruals related to the assigned subledger and general ledger accounts on a monthly basis.
Provides internal customer service regarding credit card accounts including refunds, chargebacks, and other accounting-related matters.
Assists with resolving issues involving credit card payments with the credit card payment processing vendor and related items affecting client's cash reconciliation.
Assists the senior accountant and management with ad hoc requests and reports as required.

Work Environment
There are no major sources of discomfort. A normal office environment with acceptable lighting, temperature controls and furnishings is provided. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Demands
Light Work-Exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
Position Type and Typical Hours of Work
This is a full time position. Days of work are Monday through Friday. Hours may vary based on the business needs of the department.
Required Education / Experience
High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution. One (1) year basic accounting principles knowledge.
