Accounting Systems Analyst

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for an Accounting Systems Analyst for a Contract assignment with one of our premier Healthcare clients in Newport News, VA .

Responsibilities :

• Complete complex accounting analysis requiring the application of accounting theory independently.
• Monthly preparation and analysis of estimated contractual adjustments, charity and bad debt, the preparation and filing of Medicare and Medicaid annual cost reports and settlements with independent judgement.
• Preparation and maintenance of annual budgets, Federal/State and Local tax returns, reporting to the state COPN Regulatory Authority, and cost analysis with independent judgement.
• Interpret and communicate federal and state regulations. Manage and assess priorities and deadlines with independent judgement.
• Assess the theoretical integrity of accounting functions performed in the area of responsibility.
• Recommend and implements improvements.
• Serve as a liaison with regulatory and taxing agencies, external consultants, auditors, and RHS leadership and administrators
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

• MUST actively possess a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting , Masters preferred
• Experience with analysis and data manipulation with strong Excel and data base skills
• Accounting experience with Analysis/Budget/Financial Statements
• 1 year Healthcare Accounting/Finance Experience in lieu of CPA
