Job Title: AEM Developer

Location: Charlotte, NC or Malvern, PA (Hybrid as per client requirement)
Rate: $40 $45/hr

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced AEM Developer to join Vanguard s Digital Experience team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) and associated Adobe Marketing Cloud technologies. The developer will build highly scalable, secure, and high-performance digital web experiences that align with Vanguard s architectural standards and business goals.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain components, templates, services, and workflows within Adobe Experience Manager.

Implement AEM solutions using AEM 6.x, OSGi, Sling Models, HTL/Sightly, and Java.

Develop and integrate reusable AEM components with front-end frameworks (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, React preferred).

Integrate AEM with external systems using REST/SOAP APIs, Adobe Target, Launch, and other Adobe Marketing Cloud tools.

Implement digital asset management (DAM), content governance, and metadata strategies within AEM.

Work closely with UX designers, architects, and other developers to build responsive, accessible, and secure experiences.

Participate in code reviews and enforce engineering best practices (Git, unit testing, CI/CD).

Troubleshoot AEM performance issues and optimize page load, caching, and dispatcher configurations.

Support releases, deployments, and production maintenance activities.

Required Skills & Experience

4 6+ years of hands-on development experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM 6.x).

Strong Java/J2EE development background Servlets, OSGi, Sling framework, JCR APIs.

Experience with AEM Sites, AEM Assets, and component-based architecture.

Proficiency with HTL/Sightly, JavaScript, jQuery, HTML5/CSS3.

Experience with version control tools (Git, Bitbucket).

Experience with RESTful APIs and integrations.

Strong understanding of dispatcher configurations, caching, AEM performance tuning.

Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.

Nice-to-Have Skills

Experience with Adobe Target, Adobe Launch, Adobe Analytics.

Cloud experience with AEM as a Cloud Service (AEMaaCS).

Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Bamboo).

AWS/Azure cloud experience.

Experience working in financial or enterprise-scale environments.
