Job Details

Title: Database Administrator Advanced
Duration: 9 months
Location: 100% Remote

Scope of Work

This role supports highly complex development projects related to upgrades and operations of UC4 Medicaid Management Information Systems, including both mainframe and client-server applications. The project requires individuals who are highly productive, adaptable, and effective team players in environments where ambiguity is common. Candidates should be self-motivated, collaborative, and able to align with top-level goals while driving toward project objectives with minimal supervision.

Daily Duties & Responsibilities

The position requires a Senior UC4/Automic professional with strong Linux operating system knowledge and excellent communication skills. The Database Administrator will provide application management support for the UC4/Automic Operational Manager enterprise scheduler.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide administrative support for enterprise scheduling applications.

  • Develop monitoring solutions to enhance scheduling application support.

  • Create reporting solutions for job run analysis and batch environment performance.

  • Support triage of real-time production incidents and conduct root cause analysis of failed batch jobs.

  • Manage job upgrades and migrations.

  • Integrate UC4 with Linux, Windows, and Mainframe environments.

  • Collaborate with the job scheduling team on standards, training, escalation processes, and diagnostics.

  • Develop disaster recovery solutions and ensure high availability of UC4/Automic applications.

  • Enhance and support automation scripts (JCL, Bash, Powershell, Perl, Java).

  • Provide expertise in additional scheduling tools such as Control-M and Autosys.

  • Manage patch levels and plan UC4/Automic upgrades.

  • Document scheduling policies and procedures.

  • Develop and update operational and administrative reports.

  • Provide 24/7 on-call support on a rotating basis.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

Candidates must demonstrate strong system administration, software development leadership, interpersonal skills, and enterprise-level application knowledge.

  • 5 7 years UC4/Automic experience in Linux and Windows environments

  • 5 7 years supporting UC4/Automic applications using Oracle and SQL databases

  • 5 7 years performing UC4 upgrades in production environments

  • 5 7 years programming/scripting in JCL, Powershell, Perl, and Java

  • 2+ years working with Control-M and Autosys scheduling tools

  • Strong understanding of IT development and implementation projects

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills (presentations, documentation, collaboration)

  • High proficiency in English

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in Red Hat-based Linux environments

  • Bash programming experience.

Certifications

  • None required

  • UC4/Automic certification preferred
