Anaplan Builder / Solution Architect

Location: Dallas, TX (Hybrid some onsite expected)

Overview

Odyssey is seeking an experienced Anaplan Builder/Solution Architect to join our Managed Service, supporting our clients' Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) and Workforce Planning teams. This role will drive the design, build, and optimization of scalable Anaplan solutions across Finance, HR, Sales, and Operations. The ideal candidate has deep hands-on model building expertise, experience leading Centers of Excellence (CoE), and a track record of integrating Anaplan with enterprise systems like Workday, Salesforce, Snowflake, and AWS.

Key Responsibilities

  • Model Building & Architecture
    • Design, build, and maintain Anaplan models across FP&A, Workforce Planning, Sales, and Supply Chain.
    • Develop centralized Data Hubs, ALM strategies, and automated workflows to support governance and scalability.
    • Configure complex formulas, line item subsets, Boolean filters, and user-based DCA for advanced scenario planning.
  • Integration & Automation
    • Integrate Anaplan with systems such as Workday, Salesforce, Snowflake, Oracle, and AWS S3.
    • Build and manage ETL pipelines (Airflow, MuleSoft, HyperConnect) for seamless data flow and real-time reporting.
    • Develop API pipelines for secure data transfers using OAuth 2.0, JSON, and Redshift.
  • Analytics & Forecasting
    • Implement AI-driven forecasting and predictive analytics for budgeting, compensation, and workforce planning.
    • Create dashboards, audit reports, and validation scripts to ensure data quality, compliance (SOX), and audit integrity.
    • Partner with FP&A leaders and executives to deliver accurate, real-time business insights.
  • Leadership & Collaboration
    • Serve as a key member of the Anaplan CoE, mentoring model builders and driving best practices.
    • Lead stakeholder discovery sessions, sprint planning, and UAT to align solutions with business needs.
    • Partner with Finance, HR, and Operations leaders to optimize planning cycles, increase forecast accuracy, and reduce manual effort.

Qualifications

  • Required:
    • 5+ years of hands-on Anaplan model building and solution architecture.
    • Certified Anaplan Solution Architect (current).
    • Strong experience with FP&A, workforce planning, sales performance, or compensation planning.
    • Demonstrated expertise in system integrations (Workday, Salesforce, Snowflake, Oracle, AWS).
    • Advanced knowledge of ETL pipeline development, data modeling, and automation tools.
    • Proficiency in SQL, APIs, and cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure).
    • Strong Agile/Scrum background with experience leading sprints and UAT.
  • Preferred:
    • Experience building/leading a Center of Excellence (CoE).
    • Knowledge of regulatory and SOX compliance in planning models.
    • Exposure to AI/ML-driven forecasting within Anaplan.
    • Background in Finance, HR, or Operations planning at enterprise scale.
