ABM Industries is seeking an Apparatus Test Technician (NETA II or III Preferred) or (NICET or Equivalent Experience Required) to join our Electrical Power Services team in Denver, CO. The Apparatus Test Technician is responsible for the safe and efficient testing of electrical power distribution equipment for customers in the assigned territory. In this role, you will travel approximately 50% of the time, working with a crew, and handle the performance and management of routine, moderately complex, and complex tasks and projects, record-keeping, evaluation of test data, and preparation of field service reports.

Position Summary

Pay Range: $35 - $65 + plus available paid overtime per week.

\n

The pay listed is the base hourly rate for this position. A specific offer will vary based on applicant s experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data.

Essential Functions

    \n
  • Under the supervision of Sr. Technicians, the Apparatus Test Technician will travel to customer sites to inspect, test, troubleshoot, perform start-up and collect data on electrical systems.
  • \n
  • Track project scope completion and communicate ABM and Customer Management
  • \n
  • Maintain, test, repair, rebuild, and replace low, medium, and high-voltage switchgear and circuit breakers.
  • \n
  • Troubleshoot automatic transfer switches.
  • \n
  • Test and inspect low, medium, and high-voltage cable installations.
  • \n
  • Maintain, test, and repair transformers and related equipment.
  • \n
  • Test and calibrate solid-state and electromechanical relays.
  • \n
  • Conduct low and medium-voltage motor control center and contractor testing.
  • \n
  • Start-up, troubleshoot, and repair generator controls and transfer schemes.
  • \n
  • Test and commission protection and control systems on high voltage substations.
  • \n
  • Sample and interpret insulated fluids.
  • \n
  • Complete Job Hazard Analyses including but not limited to arc-flash and shock analyses
  • \n
  • Review and submit timecards, expense, and project reports.
  • \n
  • Document test results and complete field reports.
  • \n
  • Rotate emergency on-call duty.
  • \n
  • Maintain strict compliance with regulatory laws
  • \n
  • Assist in the sales process acting as the technical expert in electrical testing and maintenance of electrical equipment
  • \n

Qualifications

\n
    \n
  • Qualified candidates, must have 2+ years of experience with apparatus electrical testing (Transformers, Breakers, Switchgear)
  • \n
  • Familiar with NETA Acceptance and Maintenance Testing Standards
  • \n
  • Familiar with NFPA70E Electrical Safety standards
  • \n
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical performance deficiencies
  • \n
  • Ability to travel regionally 50%
  • \n
  • Knowledgeable in lockout/tag-out and hazardous energy control procedures.
  • \n
  • Clean Driving Record and Drug-Free
  • \n
