Company Description

Robert Bosch LLC seeks Application Engineer - Resident (Multiple Positions) at its facility located at 15000 Haggerty Road, Plymouth, MI 48170. Responsible for radar system integration, troubleshooting, and calibration in vehicle environments. Support Bosch and client teams in problem analysis, issue reproduction, and resolution. Collaborate closely with engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of ADAS systems into vehicles, especially related to radar sensors. Ensure proper installation, positioning, connection operation of ADAS sensors and related components. Conduct calibration and configuration to optimize radar system performance within the vehicle environment that satisfies projects and customer's (internal and external) requirements. Evaluate client requirements and ensure timely delivery of issues/topics/questions to the development team. Serve as the technical interface between engineering development and the customer, coordinating customer project topics, tasks, and meetings. Develop and execute test plans to validate radar system performance, accuracy, and reliability in real-world scenarios. Collect data from vehicle prototypes and analyze results to identify areas for improvement. Create technical documentation, application notes, and guidelines for ADAS components system integration and usage, especially for radar-based systems. Provide training and support to internal teams, customers, and service technicians on radar system operation, integration, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Assist in re-flashing and configuration of radar and other ADAS components using the latest software releases. Support local test drives and long-distance endurance trips with the customer. Investigate and diagnose issues related to ADAS/radar system performance, functionality, or integration. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify root causes and implement solutions. Prepare and execute in-vehicle and in-bench tests (Hardware in the Loop - HiL). Ensure compliance with operational and system-level requirements through validation and verification activities. Maintain strong customer relationships through exceptional customer service, responsiveness, and a deep understanding of their unique requirements and challenges. Stay updated on industry trends, advancements, and best practices related to radar based systems to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge. Serve as the main technical interface in tech demos of Bosch's latest radar product/ technology to potential new customers and technology events. These activities are of utmost importance as they play a crucial role in securing new multi-million dollar businesses and expanding Bosch's footprint in the industry. Moreover, they contribute to the growth of the local economy and bring new technology to vehicles, enhancing not only comfort but also significantly increasing safety for drivers and everyone affected by accidents caused by these vehicles. REQS: This position requires a bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field and 3 years of experience as a Radar Application Engineer, ADAS Vehicle System-Integration Engineer, Body Controls System Engineer or an occupation involving the application/calibration of controls software with software emphasis. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) Vehicle Electronics and System/SW architecture including networks and diagnostics; (2) Software development and software testing; (3) Validation and performance testing for ADAS systems in vehicles; (4) Application/calibration for radar-based driver assistance functions; (5) Onsite engineering support/troubleshooting at OEM's engineering and manufacturing sites; and (6) Setting up and delivering engaging radar product/technology demos to prospective customers and serving as the main technical interface to secure new business opportunities.
