Our client is a global specialist in energy management and automation; they offer a wide range of residential and commercial electrical products.
We have a 2 openings for a skilled Application Engineer. This role involves providing centralized software support for critical BMS applications. The successful candidate will collaborate with a team to design, install, commission, and service building automation and facility management systems.
Contract type: 12 month Contract-to-Hire.
Location: Andover, MA 01810 (will work onsite daily in Andover).
Travel: There will be periods of travel to work in Chicago, Upstate NY, and Atlanta. Must be willing to work in other cities for several weeks for the integration of the system.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Notes:
- This work is to develop applications to program equipment for new facility builds for large campuses.
- This work is to program machines, test before equipment shipping to project/work site for new buildings and then support onsite commissioning.
- Travel to the sites will be for a month at a time during the work weeks.
- Candidates not local to Andover must be willing to locate there to collaborate with the team. Andover is just north of Boston.
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or a related engineering field.
- At least 4 years work experience in Industrial Controls / Automation.
- Familiarity with Modicon PLCs and EcoStruxure Control Expert (formerly Unity Pro).
- Experience with Inductive Automation Ignition SCADA and/or AVEVA System Platform.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop control programs for BMS systems using Function Block, scripting, and graphical interfaces.
- Design user-friendly graphical interfaces for BMS systems.
- Perform on-site startup, system checkout, commissioning, and programming.
- Validate and troubleshoot field devices, controllers, and equipment during point-to-point checkout.
- Adhere to established software development and documentation standards.
- Clearly communicate project status, challenges, and solutions.
- Collaborate with project teams and contractors to ensure successful commissioning.
- Create simulation software to test and validate project software.
- Deliver training sessions at customer sites or training centers.
- Develop and execute test scripts to verify BMS system performance.
- Support Managed Services by testing and resolving post-turnover issues.
- Assist in beta testing of new hardware/software to assess suitability for customer needs.
- Provision and manage servers or virtual machines to support project needs.
- Develop documentation for hardware/software installation guides.
- Perform QAQC checks on the PLC and SCADA code before initial delivery to the customer.
