Description

Position Summary

The Applications Development Leader will manage a blended team of software developers and analytics professionals, with responsibility for project delivery, client engagement, and departmental performance. This role requires both strategic guidance and hands-on involvement, balancing technical expertise with leadership of people, processes, and budgets.

This is a Direct/Permanent Hire role that will require a hybrid work schedule.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct software projects from planning through implementation, ensuring deliverables meet defined objectives.
  • Monitor project budgets, control expenses, and align outcomes with financial goals.
  • Partner with clients and internal teams to gather requirements, analyze processes, and recommend improvements.
  • Oversee and support business process mapping, with attention to efficiency and cost reduction.
  • Lead project reviews to capture lessons learned and inform future initiatives.
  • Track progress, manage risks, and adjust plans to maintain timelines and quality.
  • Provide mentorship and oversight for technical staff, assigning tasks and encouraging skill growth.
  • Maintain awareness of emerging technologies and practices to guide future solutions.
  • Foster collaboration across distributed and offshore teams to ensure consistency and results.


Requirements

Qualifications
  • Several years of experience leading software development initiatives in either a technical or managerial role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methods and the full software development lifecycle.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard platforms and tools for project tracking, collaboration, and reporting.
  • Background in process improvement, including lean methodologies or similar approaches.
  • Demonstrated success managing multiple concurrent projects in fast-paced environments.
  • Experience with ERP systems or manufacturing-related applications is preferred.
  • Skilled in communication, analysis, and problem solving across technical and business audiences.
  • Prior work with offshore or distributed teams required; consulting background is a plus.
  • Comfortable leading change and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
