Software Asset & Data Specialist

About the Role
We are looking for a Software Asset & Data Specialist to join our Enterprise Software Management (ESM) program. This role plays a critical part in digital transformation and technology cost optimization by building and maintaining an enterprise-wide software inventory that integrates financial, contractual, and usage data.
If you are a data-driven professional with expertise in Software Asset Management (SAM) and a passion for structured, scalable systems that enable smarter decision-making across IT, Finance, Procurement, and Business Units this is the role for you.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the development and ongoing improvement of an enterprise-wide software inventory, ensuring accuracy across financial, contractual, usage, and ownership domains.
Design and implement scalable processes for data normalization, deduplication, and classification.
Integrate and reconcile data across platforms such as Zylo, OpenLM, SAP GL, Coupa, and contract management systems.
Maintain and enforce data governance policies to ensure ongoing integrity and lifecycle traceability.
Collaborate with IT, Procurement, Finance, and Security teams to deliver enterprise-wide visibility and alignment on software assets and cost centers.
Generate structured reporting and insights to support license optimization, vendor negotiations, compliance audits, and executive decision-making.
Serve as a subject matter expert on software asset data and lifecycle management, driving standardization and best practices.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor s degree in Information Systems, Finance, Business, or related field (Master s preferred).
5+ years of experience in Software Asset Management (SAM), IT Asset Management (ITAM), or Enterprise Technology Operations.
Proficiency with asset and cost management platforms (e.g., Zylo, Snow, Flexera, OpenLM, ServiceNow SAM).
Strong expertise in data modeling, system integration, and cross-platform reconciliation.
Demonstrated ability to design/manage structured reporting, dashboards, and governance frameworks.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex data into business-relevant insights.
