ECS is seeking an Automation Engineer to work remotely . Please Note: This position is contingent upon contract award.
This Automation Engineer role is full-time supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Office of Information Technology (OIT) Veteran Experience Services Eligibility and Enrollment (VESEE) Product Line. This role supports modernization of Eligibility and Enrollment to build a seamless experience for Veterans, their families, and caregivers and contributes to improving VA employee and Veteran lives and working towards a larger mission. This role is responsible for designing and coding tests for software components in order to identify and resolve software problems and their causes.

Tasks for this role include:
- Develop and maintain automated testing frameworks and scripts to enhance testing efficiency and coverage
- Conduct quality assurance activities throughout the software development lifecycle, including reviewing and approving deliverables
- Design and execute test plans, create test cases, and perform various types of testing (functional, performance, regression) to identify and resolve defects
- Work closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure that quality requirements are met and to advocate for best practices in quality assurance
- Identify, document, and prioritize software defects, collaborating with development teams to communicate issues and suggest solutions
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in testing methodologies and processes to enhance overall software quality
- Ensure automation code adheres to security, compliance, and quality standards required in federal systems

Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree required
- 4+ years experience
- Proficiency in establishing, maintaining, and improving quality control processes
- Experience with test automation frameworks such as Selenium to automate repetitive testing activities
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python or Java
- Demonstrated experience in maintaining quality levels throughout the software lifecycle
- Strong ability to manage several complex tasks in a timely, effective manner
- Demonstrated ability to be proactive, think independently, and work collaboratively with a multi-functional team
- Ability to work in a dynamic, collaborative, results-driven environment
- Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance
Desired Skills
- Experience working with VA or other Federal agencies
- Experience in Federal Healthcare consulting
- Knowledge of Federal IT standards, including FISMA, FedRAMP, and Section 508 compliance
- Experience using Jira for development lifecycle management
