RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking an Azure Architect in Fulton, MD.
Summary:
The Azure Architect will design, implement, and oversee cloud-based solutions utilizing Microsoft Azure. This role requires a strategic thinker with expertise in cloud architecture to guide infrastructure modernization, application migration, and operational optimization in alignment with business goals. The Azure Architect will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the scalability, security, and efficiency of Azure-based systems while staying current with emerging cloud technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
* Cloud Architecture Design: Develop, maintain, and document comprehensive Azure cloud architecture strategies, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security
* Solution Implementation: Lead the deployment and configuration of Azure-based solutions, including virtual networks, virtual machines, containers, storage, and application services
* Migration Planning: Design and execute migration plans for transitioning legacy systems and applications to Azure, minimizing downtime and disruption
* Security and Compliance: Implement robust security measures to protect data and ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations (e.g., ISO 27001, GDPR)
* Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimize the performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency of Azure resources
* Collaboration: Work closely with developers, DevOps teams, and IT leadership to align Azure implementations with project requirements and organizational objectives
* Automation and Scripting: Develop scripts for resource provisioning, configuration management, and deployment using tools like PowerShell, Terraform, or Azure CLI
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master's degree preferred
* Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (required)
* 7+ years of IT experience with at least 3 years focused on Azure cloud architecture and solutions
* Proven experience in cloud migration and modernization projects
* Strong background in infrastructure design, networking, and security
* Proficiency in Azure services such as Azure AD, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Functions, Azure SQL, and Azure DevOps
* Strong scripting skills with PowerShell, Python, or similar tools
* Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates
* Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps principles
* Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
* Strong communication and collaboration abilities

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
