ECS is seeking an Azure Cloud Engineer to join a growing Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, and AI/ML team supporting DHS HQ. The Azure Cloud Engineer will support the modernization and re-architecture of a large, legacy system and will also design rapid Azure solutions. The successful candidate will be comfortable working with complex, mission-critical systems and will bring both technical depth in Azure services and adaptability to help shape the modernization journey.

ECS is seeking an Azure Cloud Engineer to join a growing Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, and AI/ML team supporting DHS HQ. The Azure Cloud Engineer will support the modernization and re-architecture of a large, legacy system and will also design rapid Azure solutions. The successful candidate will be comfortable working with complex, mission-critical systems and will bring both technical depth in Azure services and adaptability to help shape the modernization journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide subject matter expertise using best practices for designing cloud solutions. Consult, develop proofs of concept, and advise on the best use of Azure services to solve current challenges.
- Design and implement Azure-based solutions leveraging services such as Azure App Services, Serverless architecture, Azure Kubernetes Service, Azure Functions, Azure Cosmos DB, and Azure Storage
- Set up automation, CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code (IaC) with tools like Terraform or Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates
- Evaluate and select appropriate cloud services and technologies based on requirements and cost consideration to meet clients' technical, security, and business needs
- Research and propose solutions for Azure data transformation, data connections, operational frameworks, and application integration
- Lead the cloud architecture design for Azure to meet clients' technical, security, and business needs
- Research and propose solutions for Azure data transformation, data connections, operational frameworks, and application integration
- Provision, manage, and set up monitoring in Azure cloud services/systems (to include support with OS and application-level patching)

- Expertise in GitLab CI, repositories, and Ansible
- Experience with Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Pipelines, Azure Data Factory
- Familiarity with SQL Server, SSIS, and data warehouse environments
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with non-technical stakeholders
- Understanding of identity and access management in complex
Desired Skills
- Azure certifications (Data Engineering on Microsoft Azure (DP-203), Azure Developer (AZ-204), Azure Security Engineer (AZ-500))
- Experience with other cloud platforms
- Familiarity with SharePoint (on-prem and/or online)
- Previous experience supporting DHS
