Requirement details:  

Role: Data architect ( Microsoft Azure)

Location: Chicago, IL (Day one onsite)

Duration: Full Time/Permanent

 

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Data Architect to lead the design, implementation, and management of scalable data platforms using Microsoft Azure technologies, including ADF, Microsoft Fabric, and other modern data services. The ideal candidate will also have a foundational understanding of data science and analytics to bridge the gap between data engineering and advanced analytical use cases.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect scalable and secure data platforms on Azure to support enterprise-wide analytics and reporting.
  • Design, implement, and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Synapse Pipelines.
  • Lead the data modelling and architecture design for structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data sources.
  • Leverage Microsoft Fabric to unify data across services and optimize analytics workflows.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineers, BI Developers, and Data Scientists to align data infrastructure with analytical and machine learning use cases.
  • Ensure best practices in data security, compliance, and privacy on Azure (including RBAC, encryption, and network security).
  • Guide the integration of data science models into data pipelines and operational data stores.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data architecture or data engineering roles.
  • Proven expertise with Azure Data Factory (ADF ), Azure Synapse Analytics, Microsoft Fabric
  • Experience designing and maintaining modern data lakehouse architectures.
  • Proficiency in data modelling and data integration techniques.
  • Familiarity with data science workflows, including data preparation, model deployment, and feature engineering.
  • Understanding of common data analytics tools such as Power BI, Python/R, and SQL.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Microsoft Certifications (e.g., Azure Data Engineer, Azure Solutions Architect).
  • Experience with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines for data solutions.
  • Knowledge of machine learning model lifecycle, MLOps concepts, and integration with Azure ML.
  • Familiarity with Real-Time Data Processing (Stream Analytics, Event Hubs, Kafka).
