Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Azure Data Engineer with 5 6 years of hands-on experience in designing, building, and maintaining scalable data solutions on Microsoft Azure. The ideal candidate will work closely with data architects, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable, high-performance data pipelines and analytics platforms.


Roles & Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end data pipelines using Azure services

  • Build and optimize ETL/ELT processes using Azure Data Factory (ADF)

  • Implement data storage solutions using Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2, Azure Blob Storage, and Azure SQL

  • Develop and manage data warehousing solutions using Azure Synapse Analytics

  • Perform data transformations using Azure Databricks (PySpark / Spark SQL)

  • Ensure data quality, data validation, and monitoring of pipelines

  • Optimize performance, cost, and scalability of Azure data solutions

  • Implement CI/CD pipelines for data engineering workflows using Azure DevOps or GitHub

  • Work with structured and semi-structured data (CSV, JSON, Parquet, Avro)

  • Collaborate with BI teams to support reporting tools like Power BI

  • Implement security, governance, and compliance using Azure RBAC, Key Vault, and data encryption

  • Troubleshoot production issues and provide operational support


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 5 6 years of overall experience in Data Engineering / Data Warehousing

  • Strong experience with Microsoft Azure data services, including:

    • Azure Data Factory

    • Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS Gen2)

    • Azure Synapse Analytics

    • Azure Databricks

  • Strong proficiency in SQL and Python (PySpark preferred)

  • Experience with data modeling (star/snowflake schema)

  • Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT frameworks

  • Experience with CI/CD, version control (Git), and DevOps practices

  • Good understanding of data security, governance, and compliance

  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments


Good to Have

  • Azure certifications such as DP-203 (Azure Data Engineer Associate)

  • Experience with Power BI, DAX

  • Knowledge of Streaming technologies (Azure Event Hubs, Stream Analytics)

  • Exposure to Azure Purview / Microsoft Purview

  • Experience with Big Data concepts and performance tuning

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management

  • Ability to work independently and mentor junior engineers
