Job Description:

CalSTRS is currently pursuing multiple initiatives and efforts in support of its strategic goal of Digital Transformation. These efforts include the implementation of Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse capabilities.

CalSTRS Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse Project needs a BI Developer who has the functional and technical knowledge, skills, and experience in BI&DW tools, ML/AI, frameworks, standards, processes, and architectures. The role will work closely with business subject matter experts, and BI&DW project team. As an integral part of the team, the role is to help CalSTRS build better products with faster and better data and business insights.

A. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS

The proposed project person must meet all of the following minimum qualifications to CalSTRS satisfaction to be given further consideration. Failure to satisfy any of the minimum qualifications upon submittal of the Offer may result in the immediate rejection of the Offer.

As of the Offer Due Date, the proposed project person must have the following listed experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as evidenced by Attachment II, Proposed Project Person Skill Summary Sheet and resume:

1. At least 1 year of hands-on experience in using Generative AI to successfully deliver data analytics solutions.
2. At least 5 years of hands-on experience of designing and developing data analytics, and Business Intelligence dashboards with Microsoft (MS) Power BI.
3. At least 5 years of experience of creating Structural Query Language (SQL) queries, optimizing SQL query performance, and modifying SQL elements such as procedure, functions, and views with a solid understanding of database principles.
4. At least 3 years of experience of developing data solutions with Snowflake or Amazon Web Services (AWS) Redshift data warehouses.

It is desirable for the proposed project person to have the following listed experience, knowledge, skills and abilities as evidenced by Attachment II, Proposed Project Person Skill Summary Sheet and resume:

1. Bachelor s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, or similarfield of study. CalSTRS reserves the right to request a copy of the degree.
2. Atleast five years of experience with Agile methodologies and Software Development Life Cycle.
3. At least five years of experience with MS Power BI Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) to create queries, measures, and data models.
4. At least 3 years of experience in State agency or Financials or Investment portfolios or other regulatedindustry highly preferred.
5. Abilityto use business knowledge and expertise to build analytical data models and reports that can serve business users.
