Title: BMDI Tech

Duration: Contract (Sept. 2025-Dec 2026)

Location: Manhattan, Westchester, Staten Island area


Position Summary

The BMDI Local Technician will support the implementation, configuration, and go-live of Bedside Medical Device Integration (BMDI) systems during a multi-wave rollout. This role is hands-on and requires close collaboration with the client s technical, clinical, and vendor teams to ensure a smooth cutover, accurate device integration, and effective post-go-live support. The BMDI Local Technician will be instrumental in ensuring devices communicate securely and reliably with the Epic EHR, meeting all enterprise security and compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Pre-Go-Live Preparation (wave 1)

  • Conduct full audits of existing infrastructure, including network and hardware assessments.
  • Collaborate with vendor and internal teams on device, network, and infrastructure design and upgrades.
  • Participate in BMDI Security Controls & Policy Analysis to ensure compliance.
  • Assist in pre-cutover testing and validation activities, as needed.

Go-Live Execution

  • Configure in-scope BMDI hardware and software for Epic integration.
  • Perform connectivity and functional testing to verify secure, accurate data transmission.
  • Support site rounding activities and address technical issues in real-time.
  • Log, document, and escalate incidents through established helpdesk processes.

Post-Go-Live Support (Hypercare)

  • Provide Tier 3 technical support for escalated issues.
  • Monitor system performance, capture baseline data, and ensure devices remain compliant.
  • Respond to and resolve high-priority tickets, coordinating with the Rapid Response Team when required.
  • Document system changes, fixes, and process improvements.


Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with medical device integration in a healthcare IT environment.
  • Working knowledge of Epic s BMDI integration workflows (preferred).
  • Strong networking and infrastructure troubleshooting skills.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA and healthcare data security requirements.
  • Ability to follow structured cutover plans and adapt to on-the-fly issue resolution.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with clinical, technical, and vendor stakeholders.
