Job Details

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking Backend Developer (.NET) in Fremont, CA which requires 5 days onsite per week for a 6-12-month Contract with extension or conversion.

Duties/Day to Day Overview:
* Contribute to the full software development lifecycle for backend applications ensuring high-quality and timely delivery
* Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade applications using C# and .NET frameworks
* Build and optimize SQL-based solutions including database design, queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning
* Collaborate with product managers, service engineers, and other developers to define and implement backend features that improve operational efficiency at scale
* Ensure seamless integration of applications with distributed enterprise systems supporting real-time monitoring, control, and reporting
* Implement best practices in coding, design patterns, and database management to deliver scalable and maintainable solutions
* Apply rigorous testing strategies (unit and integration testing) to guarantee the reliability and performance of backend services
* Drive backend initiatives from concept to completion including requirement analysis, design, implementation, and deployment
* Promote engineering excellence and contribute to a collaborative team culture

REQUIREMENTS:
* 3+ years of hands-on experience
* Proven experience as a .NET Backend Engineer with strong expertise in C#, .NET Core, and SQL
* Must have an enterprise background with experience building and supporting large-scale business applications
* Must be hands-on with coding and demonstrate strong programming foundations in data structures, algorithms, and design principles
* Hands-on experience designing and optimizing relational databases (SQL Server, Postgres, or equivalent)
* Solid understanding of backend development best practices, microservices, and scalable architectures
* Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills for backend services and database performance issues
* Proficiency in writing efficient queries, stored procedures, and database scripts
* Commitment to continuous learning and enthusiasm for staying current with backend technologies

Key Focus Areas:
* C#/.NET: Core language and framework for backend application development
* SQL/Databases: Schema design, query optimization, indexing, and transaction handling
* Enterprise Applications: Proven ability to deliver scalable, secure, and reliable solutions in enterprise environments
* Hands-on Programming: Strong foundation in core programming concepts with practical coding expertise
* Microservices Architecture: Breaking down monoliths into scalable, independent services
* Debugging & Optimization: Identifying and resolving backend system and database performance issues
* Docker & Kubernetes (Optional): Supporting containerized deployments at scale
* Kafka (Optional): Event-driven architecture and real-time data processing

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
