Backend Engineer

M9 Solutions is seeking a Backend Engineer to workon a government contract for a client located in Washington, DC.An active Top Secret/SCI clearance is required.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for designing, developing, and deploying secure, scalable, and reliable Cloud infrastructure that houses software, machine learning models, data, and serverless functions.
• Build and manage CI/CD pipelines, implement, and automate security best practices, optimize Cloud performance and cost efficiency.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth integration and deployments that abstract away server management and environment configuration for data scientist and software engineering teams.
• Participate in architectural design discussions.
• Help make decisions on changes Cloud infrastructure as needed to accommodate changing user requirements.
• Consider cost trade-offs of various Cloud environment configurations and contribute to budget discussions.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Work Authorization: ship is required.
• An active Top Secret/SCI clearance is required.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science, computer engineering, mathematics, or related fields, or 4+ years of overall experience in lieu of degree.
• 4+ years of Java, Python, and SQL experience or certifications.
• AWS developer associate or higher certification is required.
• Experience with the Java Hibernate object relational mapper and with containers such as Docker or Kubernetes.
• Experience with Java, Hibernate, AWS (S3, API Gateway, Lambda, RDS, EC2, ECS), PostgreSQL, Python, Linux Shell Commands, Docker, Nginx, Agile/Scrum Process, Atlassian Confluence, Jira, Git, and GitHub/GitLab.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

• Familiarity and experience with the intelligence community and the intel cycle.
• Strong verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and build strong relationships with team members.

• M9 Solutions' pay range for this position is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include, but are not limited to, responsibilities of the position, education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, as well as internal equity, location, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
