Robert Bosch LLC seeks a Battery Modeling and Controls Engineer at its facility located at 384 Santa Trinita Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94085.

Job Description:

Develop electrochemical performance and aging models for lithium-ion batteries. Develop model-based state-of-health/state-of-charge estimation algorithms to estimate and predict the remaining life of the cells. Develop model-based optimal charging algorithms. Design, run, and analyze tests in the lab to parameterize and verify the proposed models and algorithms. Utilize available tools to parameterize battery models and propose improvements based on results from data analysis. Operate battery test equipment in a lab setting. Telecommuting permitted.

Educational Requirements:

Master's degree or foreign degree equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electrochemistry, or related field.

Special Skills Requirements:

Academic training or work experience in the following:

1. Battery modeling

2. Control of lithium-ion batteries

3. Electrochemical modeling

4. MATLAB

5. Partial differential equation systems

6. Differential algebraic equation systems
