Job Details

We are seeking an experienced Business/Data Analyst with Healthcare IT expertise to support the Bureau of Laboratories (BOL). The selected candidate will provide business and data analysis, reporting services, and onsite IT support. This role requires strong technical and analytical skills, the ability to formalize system requirements, and experience working in healthcare and laboratory environments. The candidate will serve as a liaison between BOL, HHSDC, and external partners, ensuring compliance with all state and federal IT standards.


Responsibilities

  • Perform business and process analysis; document and formalize system requirements.
  • Provide data analysis and reporting using Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and Power BI.
  • Support Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and data exchange initiatives with internal and external partners.
  • Assist with laboratory-specific reporting between health systems and organizations.
  • Create and maintain business and technical documentation, including process flows and workflow diagrams.
  • Communicate laboratory system and business process needs with IT staff, epidemiologists, health program staff, and external stakeholders.
  • Provide onboarding/offboarding support for laboratory systems.
  • Deliver miscellaneous onsite IT support to all BOL divisions.
  • Support bioinformatics staff and HHSDC technical teams with IT infrastructure and software development projects.
  • Act as liaison with external IT vendors to ensure smooth operations and system integrations.
  • Ensure compliance with Commonwealth, DOH, BOL, and HHSDC standards and procedures.
  • Participate in technical and business meetings; prepare and deliver status reports.
  • Complete weekly timesheet submissions in Vector VMS by COB Friday.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of data analysis and reporting experience using SSRS and Power BI.
  • 3+ years of business and process analysis with demonstrated ability to formalize system requirements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), SharePoint, and Visio.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Experience troubleshooting issues in fast-paced, rapidly changing environments.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the healthcare industry, with a focus on health information technology.
  • Familiarity with laboratory practices (clinical or public health laboratory).
  • Knowledge of standardized healthcare nomenclatures (LOINC, SNOMED, etc.) used in electronic test orders/results.
  • Previous State, Federal, or Local government experience.
  • Bachelor s degree in a relevant field (preferred).
