Summary: A leading alternative asset management company specializing in a diverse range of credit opportunities, including private credit, distressed strategies, structured finance, special situations investing, CLO's and more is looking for a Business Analyst to join their team in either Los Angeles or Dallas.
Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of experience in technology roles within financial services, with a significant focus on CLO's and leveraged loans.
- Experience working to deliver software projects, systems integrations, and architecture transformations, preferably within an asset management or investment banking environment.
- Experience gathering user requirements across multiple teams to translate business objectives into clear project deliverables
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and senior executives and document them.
- Strong project management, prioritization, and change management capabilities to ensure timely, highquality product delivery.
- Familiarity with data engineering best practices, database technologies (SQL and NoSQL), APIs, and modern data analytics and visualization tools (Tableau preferred) and AI / LLM fundamentals.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a long-term vision for technology solutions supporting the CLO business.
- Prioritize new projects and application enhancements to align with evolving investment strategies, regulatory changes, and industry best practices.
- Establish a cohesive data ecosystem by integrating existing datasets and backfilling historical data to provide a foundation for actionable insights, optimized processes, and advanced modeling.
- Design and implement a CLO collateral optimization tool to support hypothetical trading plan generation.
- Develop a leveraged loan swap tool to identify pair swaps that identify and act on temporary collateral dislocations.
- Automate and schedule optimization and swap ideas to Portfolio Managers based on predefined market signals or prompts.
- Ensure that technology initiatives focused on loans and the CLO business integrate seamlessly with other business lines, including private credit, distressed credit, real estate, and structured products.
- Lead the design, implementation, and ongoing enhancement of portfolio management systems, workflow tools, and data analytics platforms.
- Oversee integration with third-party solutions (e.g., risk analytics vendors, CRM systems, administrative platforms) and internal applications to maximize data interoperability.
- Coordinate migration of legacy systems to modern, scalable architectures, optimizing performance and workflow efficiency.
- Establish and maintain robust data management protocols, including data ingestion, normalization, and validation for loans and CLO structures.
- Partner with Data Management and Business Technology teams to design secure, consistent, and efficient data flows between various internal and external data sources.
- Implement strong governance and control frameworks to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate closely with front-office investment professionals, risk managers, operations teams, legal and compliance, and investor relations to identify technology needs and refine product requirements.
- Serve as an advocate and subject-matter expert on behalf of CLO team workflows, acting as the primary liaison between the business and business technology, operations and accounting teams, client-facing teams and other business units.
- Communicate technical priorities effectively across the organization, managing budgets, resources, and timelines to deliver impactful technology solutions.
