Position Summary
The Business Analyst is responsible for defining, documenting, and refining business requirements to support client s software product development lifecycle. This role ensures requirements are aligned with corporate standards, verifiable, and testable. The Business Analyst partners with project management, release management, IT stakeholders, and vendors to deliver business solutions that meet organizational needs, enhance processes, and support both current and future business environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Understands and applies best practices for gathering, documenting, and analyzing detailed business requirements.
- Reviews business requirements to define business needs and solution scope without assuming a technical approach.
- Documents business requirements into functional requirements that are verifiable and testable.
- Works under the guidance of Senior Business Analysts and Business Solutions Consultants to ensure alignment with standards and practices.
- Supports execution of the development pipeline, including vendor solutions, through QA and production release.
- Coordinates with Project and Release Management to sequence development activities within software development methodologies.
- Assists in identifying appropriate technology solutions to address business needs.
- Provides input into project details such as scope, estimates, evaluation criteria, and results.
- Defines system scope and objectives, considering current and future business needs.
- Develops business and functional requirements for small to medium business process changes.
- Communicates business requirements to IT stakeholders in detail, and conversely, explains technical solutions to business stakeholders in non-technical terms.
- Provides feedback on process improvement initiatives aimed at improving both business and IT outcomes.
- Supports design, build, and testing phases for medium to large scope projects and enhancements.
Qualifications
Required:
- Experience in requirements gathering, documentation, and analysis.
- Strong ability to translate business needs into functional requirements.
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and release management practices.
- Ability to collaborate across business and IT teams.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred:
- Experience working with vendor software solutions.
- Exposure to QA, testing methodologies, and process improvement initiatives.
- Familiarity with industry requirements and business system applications.
