Job Title: Business Analyst
Duration: 6 Months Contract to hire
Location: NYC, NY
On-site position for the contract term
Mid-level business analyst to build out process models, requirements documents and other documentation artifacts in line with the organization's business architecture, technology and governance strategies, policies, and standards. The Senior Business Analyst will work with the Information Systems team and various business units of the organization to perform the following objectives and responsibilities.
Objectives:
- Drive awareness of requirements across business units and identify substandard systems processes through evaluation of real-time data
- Serve as a thought leader for technical business processes, developing systems prototypes that promote increased efficiency and productivity on multiple levels
- Create and implement precise management plans for every project, with attention to transparent communication at all levels
- Perform, evaluate, and communicate thorough quality assurance at every stage of systems development
- Determine and develop user requirements for systems in production, to ensure maximum usability
Responsibilities:
- Conduct meetings and gather requirements for projects and initiatives
- Understand and document the current working process in detail (review, document and assess critical business processes)
- Be analytical and detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and problem-solve across multiple projects and platforms
- Track the working process, evaluate its effectiveness, and capture lessons learned
- Identify, communicate, and report significant deviations from known processes
- Focus on driving measurable improvements by deploying process improvements to assigned problems
- Partner with stakeholders across business units to develop analyses and documentation in a collaborative way, communicating effectively and efficiently with production, managerial, and executive teams
- Develop test plans, perform and explain QA test cases
- Create end-user documentation
Required skills and qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in information technology or computer science
- 3+ years of relevant experience in analytics and systems development
- Excellent communication skills, with an ability to analyze data
- Experience in generating business documentation and reports
- Strong presentation skills
- Familiarity with database queries (e.g. execute SELECT and JOIN queries)
Preferred qualifications:
- Proficiency with technical writing and documentation
- Ability to document processes in using LucidChart, or Visio or flow chart tool
- Experience with any automated web testing tools (e.g.Browserstack)
- Experience with ServiceNow, Salesforce and/or IBM iSeries is a plus
